The game was eventually announced for release in Japan on the Game Boy Advance in 2003, after the release of Mother 1+2, and, despite popular demand, was never released officially in any other region, presently being the only game in the series to lack an official international release. However, the project was cancelled in late 2000. The game is still pretty punishing but with a 4x XP boost, I say it’s still a joy to play Walkinghawk22 1 yr. on the single-cartridge compilation Mother 1+2 for the Game Boy Advance in 2003. Originally developed as a late SNES title, the project was shifted to the Nintendo 64 and even later the Nintendo 64DD, where it received the tentative title of Mother 64 in Japan and EarthBound 64 overseas. You can actually use a romhack called Mother Restored and Earthbound Zero Improvement hacks together and you basically created the GBA version. Mother 3 is the third game in the EarthBound series, taking place an unknown amount of time after EarthBound. This is a work-in-progress translation patch for MOTHER 2 on the GBA. This new version of the patch mostly fixes technical issues and bugs for a better gameplay experience. Mother 1+2 is also a compilation consisting of Mother (some fans called it Earthbound Zero) and Mother 2 (EarthBound) that was released in Japan for Nintendos Game Boy Advance during the summer of 2003.
